About this tool
PNG is lossless, which makes it the best choice when a page has small text, tables, charts or line drawings that you want to stay perfectly sharp, for example when adding a page to a presentation, a website or a design file. Each page becomes its own image, named by page number so they stay in order.
PNG files are larger than JPGs. If you only need a quick image to share in a chat app, JPG is usually enough, and you can switch format before converting. Conversion happens in your browser, so confidential documents stay on your device.
Questions
Is PNG better than JPG for PDF pages?
For pages that are mostly text, tables or drawings, yes: PNG keeps edges sharp with no blurring. For photo-heavy pages, JPG gives much smaller files that look almost identical.
What resolution are the PNG images?
Standard saves at 150 DPI, which looks sharp on screens. High saves at 300 DPI, the usual resolution for printing. An A4 page at 300 DPI is about 2480 by 3508 pixels.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Pages are saved with a white background, just as they look in a PDF reader.
Can I convert just one page?
All pages are converted, and you can then download any single page from the list below the main download button.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Every page is drawn on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
